Monthly Matinee Movie: “Harriet”

On the 4th Friday of each month, there will be a popular recent movie shown in the Library’s Community Room. The movies, all curated by Librarian Linda Reimer, are selected with adult viewers in mind.
No need to sign up, just show up.
This Month’s Matinee Movie is Harriet, directed by Kasi Lemmons and starring Cynthia Arivo, Janelle Monáe, and Leslie Odom, Jr.
Released in 2019, the film is rated PG-13 and runs 2h 5m.
The Plot: The extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman’s escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroines, whose courage, ingenuity and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history.
