SUMMARY:Bookbinding with Wynn Yarrow\, Part 6 : Bind Final Project
DESCRIPTION:This series of six classes on bookbinding processes examines the historic and contemporary traditions of the art\, provides a foundation in bookbinding skills\, and gives students the opportunity to engage their hands and minds. \nPeople taking this class are requested to take all six classes\, as each class builds upon and reinforces things learned in the other classes; if you cannot commit to attending all six classes\, we ask that you not sign up. (Registration for this event series is now closed.) \nDiscover contemporary trends in bookbinding by viewing examples of artists’ books. Learn how foundational skills are combined in novel ways. “Think with paper” to design a book format you will create for your final project\, considering how book format and book content are connected. \nThis project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program\, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes. \nAbout the instructor: I live in the Southern Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. My studio is in my home. I paint local forest and garden landscapes representing human connection to the natural world. Creative artist residencies provide additional inspiration and exposure to new natural ecosystems. Learn more on Wynn’s website: wynnyarrow.com
