DESCRIPTION:Join Miss Sue at 10 AM in Centerway Square in downtown Corning\, every other week from Tuesday\, June 10 through Tuesday\, August 19. Each week\, one lucky child in the crowd will win a book to take home with them\, courtesy of the Southeast Steuben County Library.\nIn the event of rain\, the storytime will take place at the Library in the Mary Lu Walker Children’s Room.\nCheck Facebook to confirm on the day if rain is expected.\n\nThis program is a partnership between the Southeast Steuben County Library and  Corning’s Gaffer District\, and is sponsored by WilliamsToyota.

SUMMARY:Free Hot Grilled Lunch for Kids 19 and Under
DESCRIPTION:Every Tuesday\, beginning on July 15 and running through August 19\, from 12 noon to 1:00 PM\, a free\, hot grilled meal will be available for children ages 19 and under.  The meals will be served in the Civic Center Plaza\, and typically consist of a hamburger or hot dog\, chips\, cookie and a drink.\nAdults accompanying a child may purchase a grilled lunch for themselves. \nA free cold lunch for kids will be available from 12 noon to 12:30 PM on Monday\, Wednesday\, Thursday and Friday\, beginning July 14 and running through August 22. The meals will be served in the Library’s community rooms\, and typically consist of a sandwich\, fruit\, chips and a drink. \nThe meals are provided in collaboration with the Corning-Painted Post School District

It starts at 1:00 and goes until 2:00 (or until the food runs out).\nAny kid 18 years of age and under can come to the Library community rooms and select fresh produce to take home. He is an evolutionary biologist and behavioral ecologist fascinated by the diversity that can be found within species. After completing his PhD at Cornell University\, he moved to the University of Washington to study hummingbird movement and metabolism. Now at the University of Colorado\, he is investigating the genetics and development of feather coloration. Jay currently lives in Gamboa\, Panamá\, where he studies the hummingbirds that visit the feeders at his house on the edge of the forest.
