Writing can be a lonely pursuit, but it doesn’t have to be. Join a group of fellow writers for conversation, inspiration and feedback. The Corning Adult Writer’s Group has been encouraging and supporting fellow writers for over 12 years.

Looking for a local D&D group with other like-minded adults? Join us at the Southeast Steuben County Library on Friday evenings. Hosted by Dungeon Master Robin, bring your characters and dice.

Come to the Art Lab for a story with Miss Sue from the Southeast Steuben County Library, then a project at the Art Lab. Lil Rockwell creates opportunities to explore art-viewing and artmaking for our littlest visitors and their caregivers. During different months, you’ll find either an art class suitable for children 18 mo- 5 years; a story hour for children of all ages; or a stroller walk, where even infants can participate! Lil Rockwell occurs on the first Thursday of every month except for September. This program is designed to engage your little ones through art exploration; and for the grown-ups–we have coffee! Free for children and their caregivers, no registration required.

The Coffee, Tea & English Book Club is intended for international people. The book is chosen by the facilitator with the group’s needs and language skills in mind. Participants read on their own and then meet weekly to discuss the material as prompted by prepared questions.

On Thursdays, between 10AM and 3PM, homeschoolers can skate at the Nasser Civic Center Ice Rink for a reduced rate of $3, with a skate rental of only $1 (if you don't have your own skates). There will be no homeschool ice skating discounts on December 25th or January 1st.

The primary focus will be social interaction but we’ll also incorporate a light theme or activity. Suggested for ages 5-12 years but younger siblings are welcome to tag along.

The Corning Duane Eddy Circle (CDEC) meets monthly at the Library to discuss Corning-born, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Duane Eddy and his music.

The Southeast Steuben County Library will be the site for a Red Cross blood drive. If you donated blood at a previous Community Blood Drive at the Library, you are safely eligible to donate again at this drive.
Artsy Kids is an Art History and Project class. Each week a different Master Artist will be featured. There will be a discussion about the artist, followed by an instructed project lesson based on the featured artist’s style of art.

The Adult Book Club meets in-person at the Library on the second Friday of each month. Check our calendar for future dates and book selections.

Every Friday afternoon through June 7, Miss Sue will show a new movie for kids. All the films will start at 3:15 PM and will be rated G or PG.
