This series of six (6) classes on bookbinding processes examines the historic and contemporary traditions of the art, provides a foundation in bookbinding skills, and gives students the opportunity to engage their hands and minds.
People taking this class are requested to take all six classes, as each class builds upon and reinforces things learned in the other classes; if you cannot commit to attending all six classes, we ask that you not sign up. You only need sign up once; please sign up using the form below.

Part 1: Sewing Foundations
Learn basic sewing methods based on the medieval codex book form. You will sew a pamphlet stitch book, and a three signature book block.

About the instructor: I live in the Southern Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. My studio is in my home. I paint local forest and garden landscapes representing human connection to the natural world. Creative artist residencies provide additional inspiration and exposure to new natural ecosystems.
