Southeast Steuben County Library Unbound: Online and in the Community

Corning, New YorkThe Southeast Steuben County Library, like all responsible community members, has been closed since March 17 per Governor Cuomo’s PAUSE orders. Like everyone else, the Library is waiting to learn about the phased reopening of businesses and organizations across the state.

During the closure, the Library has continued to offer services to its patrons, including access to thousands of eBooks, audio books, and movies as well as online programs ranging from story times, yoga, art & craft classes, even a virtual reference desk. While the Library staff miss being in our building, surrounded by the wonderful collections, they miss the Library’s patrons even more, and will continue to offer online access, programs and services for as long as it takes to get through this crisis, and beyond.

The Library wants patrons to realize that it is more than the building or the physical collections; it is the promise made in its Mission Statement: to provide free and open access to collections, electronic resources and innovative services which anticipate, support and respond to the ever-changing informational, cultural and leisure needs of all people within our community.

To that end the Library is kicking off a new campaign to promote our continuing services during this trying time: Southeast Steuben County Library Unbound: Online and in the Community.
